INGREDIENTS

1 box ziti (or any pasta you like)
3- 4 cups shredded, cooked chicken (3 or 4 chicken breasts)
2 jars good quality pasta sauce (I like Barilla)
1 can diced tomatoes
1 Tablespoon sugar
2-3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese (Depending how cheesy you like it)
1/3 cup freshly-grated Parmesan cheese

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
Cook the pasta al dente in a large stockpot of generously-salted boiling according to package instructions.
Combine jarred sauce, tomatoes and sugar in xlarge pot then stir in chicken. Warm on med-low heat.
Drain pasta and pour into the pot of sauce and chicken. Gently toss to combine until the pasta is evenly coated.
Pour half of the pasta into a greased xlarge casserole dish. Sprinkle evenly with half of mozzarella cheese, half of the Parmesan cheese. Layer the remaining half of the pasta evenly on top. Sprinkle evenly with the remaining cheese.
Bake for 30-40 minutes until the cheese is melted and just barely starts to turn golden. Remove and sprinkle immediately with the remaining Parmesan cheese and fresh basil. Serve warm.

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
This is a hearty meal and is even better when reheated the next day. The first time I had this was at my friend Nancy’s house after her husband Ron passed away. This dish was brought by a friend and eaten by those of us staying with Nancy. I think of Ron, and of course my dear friend Nancy, every time I make this dish.
