1 lb. ground beef (optional)
4 slices bacon cut in 1-inch pieces
½ cup chopped onion
16 oz. can green beans, drained
16 oz. can baked beans
15 oz. kidney beans, drained and rinsed

Sauce:
½ cup firmly packed brown sugar
1 tsp. salt
½ cup ketchup
1 tbsp. vinegar
1 tsp. mustard

Directions:

Brown ground beef and onions, then drain grease and pour into a casserole dish.

Add the rest of the ingredients, stir to mix, cover with lid, and microwave for 20 minutes or bake in the oven at 350º for 30 minutes.

You can also cook this in a crock pot, if you're taking it to a party. After you brown the ground beef and onions, Add all the ingredients to the crock pot, stir and cook on low for at least 2 hours before serving (stir occasionally so the bottom doesn't burn or get too sticky).

This is a popular side dish for many family events, including Easter and birthday parties. Easy to make and transport in a crock pot.

It's delicious with or without the ground beef. If you don't include ground beef, then just mix the raw chopped onions in with the rest of the ingredients and microwave or bake. Saves you an extra step and you have have it done in less time.
