1 large onion, chopped
2 T oil
2 lb ground beef
2 small cans tomato paste
1 medium can of tomato sauce
1 T salt
2 T sugar
¼ t garlic powder
½ t black pepper
¼ t sweet basil
½ t parsley flakes
5 tomato paste cans of water
Directions:
Directions:
Put 2 T of oil in heavy pot. Add 1 large chopped onion. Sauté until onion is soft. Add ground beef and cook until meat is no longer pink. Add tomato paste and mix with meat and cook over low heat about 2 minutes. Add tomato sauce, seasonings and water. Stir. Bring to a boil then lower flame to simmer and cook 1 to 1-1/2 hours.

Family secret right here. Momma grew up on spaghetti sauce from her Italian family. We were blessed to have this growing up as well. Momma sometimes preferred spaghetti to traditional Thanksgiving or Christmas dinners. It was always something to which to look forward! It is a symbol of love in our family.
