1-¾ c cornmeal
¼ c flour
1-½ t baking powder
1 t salt
½ t baking soda
1 c buttermilk
1 egg
4 T oil

Preheat oven to 450 deg F. Coat skillet generously in Crisco shortening - do NOT preheat.

Mix all ingredients together well.

Cook for 25-30 minutes.
