Apple Pie.....the Irish Way Recipe

8 oz. flour
4 oz. golden crisco
1 cup sugar
5 large apples

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 400º F
Mix together flour and crisco and roll out into two equal round pieces
Line pie plate with one of the rolled out pieces
Peel apples and slice them thinly and evenly
Layer the apples evenly adding sugar throughout the layers
Place top layer of rolled out dough on top of pie
Slightly wet edges and stick the top layer to the bottom
Insert holes with a fork 2-3 times across the top to allow steam to escape
Bake at 400º F for 10 minutes
Reduce heat to 350º F and bake an additional 35 minutes
Remove from oven and sprinkle top with sugar
Let cool before serving

The above recipe is for a regular size pie plate. For larger pie plate use 10 oz. flour, 5 oz. golden crisco and 6-7 apples.
