6 oz. margarine
1½ c. sugar
1½ c. water
2 c. raisins
1 tsp. all spice
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. ginger
3 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 egg if desired

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 400º F
Boil together the margarine, sugar, water, raisins, spice, cinnamon and ginger
Let cool
Add one egg if desired, then add flour and baking soda
Put into a square 8 inch cake tin
Bake at 400º F for ½ hour
Reduce temperature to 325º F
Bake another 45-50 minutes
Remove from oven and let cool before serving
