1 ¼ cup water
1 stick cinnamon
4-5 whole cloves
1 Tbsp anise seeds

Bread:
4 ¼ cups flour
½ cup sugar
½ cup + ¼ Tbsp water
6 Tbsp vegetable oil
½ cup raisins
½ cup walnuts
5 tsp yeast
1 tsp crush anise

1. Boil water with spices for about 30 minutes

Bread
1. In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, and yeast
Make a well in the center and pour oil
Add enough warm water to make a soft dough & knead well
Add raisins & walnuts & 1 tsp crush anise

2. Let rise

3. Punch dough back down

4. Divide into balls, about the size of oranges

5. Roll like a long fat sausage
Make small ropes to make a neck & arms to go around the body
Use raisins & cloves for buttons
Use cloves for eyes & raisins for mouth

6. Let rise again

7. Bush with egg

8. Bake
