3 Tbsp olive oil
⅓ cup chopped onion
1 12 oz can tomato paste + 1 can of water
1 15 oz can tomato sauce + 1 can of water
¼ tsp anise extract
1 tsp oregano
1 tsp garlic powder
½ tsp salt
Dash of pepper
2 Tbsp sugar

Directions:

Sauté onion in olive oil till transparent
Add tomato sauce, paste and water. Stir
Add all seasonings and mix
Turn stove burner to high and cook till combined sauce begins to bubble, stirring frequently.
Turn down to simmer and cook 3-4 hours till sauce is thick
Add sugar and stir
