3 ½ cups flour
4 tsp. baking powder
½ tsp. soda
1 tsp. salt
2/3 cup shortening
1 ½ cups sugar
4 eggs
2 cups mashed bananas
1 cup chopped nuts

Directions:
Directions:
Sift and measure flour, sift again with baking powder, salt, and soda. Cream shortening and sugar. Add well-beaten egg and blend. Add flour mixture alternatively with mashed bananas. Mix well and add nuts. Line pans with wax paper. Bake 3 large pans at 350 degrees for about 1 hour. Bake 4 small pans at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. Watch oven closely, do not overcook!
