Ingredients:  
1 tsp soda
2 cups flour
1 cup shortening
2 cups oatmeal
1 cup brown surgar
pinch salt
Rub together to crumbs and press gently ⅔ of it in cake pan. cover with the following
½ pound dates
1 cup water
½ cup white surgar

Boil and cool. spread rest of crumbs on dates

use 9 by 13 pan
Bake at 350 for 25 to 30 minutes
