8 oz. uncooked macaroni
4 Tbsp butter
4 Tbsp flour
2 cups milk
1/2 tsp salt
Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese (mild or sharp)
1/2 c breadcrumbs

Prepare pasta as directed on package. Preheat oven to 400º. Spray baking pan with non-stick cooking spray.

Melt better in large saucepan. Add flour mixed with salt and pepper, using a whisk to stir until well blended. Pour milk in gradually, stirring constantly. Bring to a boil and boil for 2 minutes while stirring constantly, Reduce heat and add cheese continuing to cook until cheese is melted. Add cooked macaroni to cheese. Blend well and transfer to prepared baking pan. Cover with breadcrumbs. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes until slightly browned on top.
