Beat until fluffy:

¼ cup shortening
1 cup brown sugar
¼ cup molasses
1 egg


Whisk together and than stir into the above mixture:

2¼ cups flour
2 teaspoons baking soda
½ teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon ground ginger
1 teaspoon cinnamon
½ teaspoon ground cloves
½ teaspoon nutmeg

Directions:
Directions:
Form in balls. Roll in sugar. Place 2” apart in greased cookie sheet.

Bake 12 minutes @ 375º

Makes 5 dozen
