1 stick margarine
1 c. water
¼ c. cocoa
½ c. liquid shortening
2 c. flour
2 c. sugar
½ tsp. salt
½ c. buttermilk
2 eggs
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla
ICING:
1 stick of margarine
¼ c. cocoa
⅓ c. buttermilk
1 box (lb.) powdered sugar
½ c. pecans chopped
1 tsp. vanilla
dash of salt

Directions:
Directions:
Combine margarine, water, cocoa, and shortening in saucepan. Bring to a boil and pour over the flour, sugar, and salt which has been mixed together. Add buttermilk, eggs, soda, and vanilla to mixture. Blend and pour into greased and floured 11x16x1" jelly roll pan or cookie sheet with sides. Bake 20 minutes at 400º. Remove from oven and ice with brownie icing while still warm. ICING: Combine margarine, cocoa, and buttermilk in saucepan. Bring to a boil and add powdered sugar, nuts, salt, and vanilla. Spread over brownies while mixture is hot.
