1 lb Calamari, cut into about 1 inch rings
Regular milk, enough to cover
Small spoonful of baking soda
1/2 cup Flour
1/2 cup Corn meal
Garlic powder
Salt and pepper

Vegetable oil to fry

Prepare:
1. In a large bowl, mix milk and baking soda together
2. Add calamari
3. Refrigerate at least 30 minutes
4. In another bowl, mix flour, corn meal, garlic powder, salt and pepper

When ready to fry:
1. Heat vegetable oil
2. Drain the calamari. Do not rinse
3. Coat calamari with the flour mixture. ( use plastic bag or aluminum tin. Shake off excess
4. Fry until golden brown
