Ingredients:
Ingredients:
2 (10 ounce) packages frozen corn kernels, thawed
2 cups whole milk, divided in two one cup portions
2 tbsp corn starch, mixed with a tablespoon of water to make it easy to dissolve.
2 tsp liquid smoke
1 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons granulated sugar
¼ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
¼ cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese (we use whatever cheese we have on hand)

Directions:
Directions:
In a skillet over medium heat, combine the corn, one cup milk, salt, sugar, pepper and butter. Whisk together the milk and flour, and stir into the milk mixture. Add liquid smoke. Slowly add corn starch and water mixture. Cook, stirring over medium heat until the mixture is thickened, and corn is cooked through. If mixture isn't as thick as you'd like, add another tablespoon of water mixed with corn starch. Know that it will thicken as it cools. Remove from heat, and stir in the Parmesan cheese until melted. Serve hot.
