1 package navy beans, soaked and drained
ham bones
water
1 large onion, chopped
carrots, cubed very small
1 head cabbage, chopped
salt and pepper

Directions:
Directions:
Soak navy beans according to directions.
In a large pot, place ham bone and fill pot ¾ full with water.
Add onions, carrots, and beans to pot, and season with salt and pepper.
Simmer for 3 - 4 hours.

Optional - Add chopped cabbage to pot after soup has simmered several hours.

Finish cooking until cabbage is cooked.
