1 lb. Goya dry yellow split peas
2 packets chicken bouillon
1/4 c. minced parsley
2 tsp. onion powder or 1 chopped onion or 1 peeled and washed onion whole
1 medium sized can DelMonte mixed vegetables
1 stalk celery thinly sliced on an angle
1 cup diced, ham leftover or from a ham steak or 1/4 lb Boars Head ham
salt and pepper to taste
6 cups of water

Rinse peas and check for debris then put into a soup pot with 6 cups of water and all the rest of the ingredients. After bringing to a boil stirring occasionally reduce to a simmer covered until peas are tender.
