1 Pkg. Frozen or Fresh Okra
Salt and pepper to taste
Cornmeal
Shortening (or vegetable oil)

Cut okra into ½" slices. Salt and pepper lightly. Roll okra in cornmeal, separating each piece and coating well. Heat oil until hot. Add okra, turning as needed to brown. Drain on paper towels to soak up excess oil.
