Cut up ribs so that there are two to three bones together only.

Boil them in a large pot with either beer or wine (for tenderizer) for about one hour or so (they will be almost falling off bone and the fat will be in the water)

Mix up the sauce and boil (add for taste around level of sweetness)

Coat the ribs and bake for 1/2 hour at 350 or wrap in foil and put on grill for about 20 minutes.

Personal Notes:
This is my daughter's absolute favorite. In my family of origin, we always chose our birthday dinners. So, I continued this tradition with my kids. My daughter, Andrea, requested it most years for her February birthday dinner (especially when she had friends over -- what a feast)!!!

Put out lots of napkins.

Generally everyone, not just my children, love these BBQ ribs because they are sweet but not too sweet. They are based on using my mother's "BBQ" sauce which was more like Italian tomato sauce.

I combine the sweetness of a regular BBQ with the Italian version, so it's the perfect amount of sweetness.

This recipe pairs very well with homemade cole slaw. Just buy the shredded cabbage package and add some mayonnaise, lemon juice, a little vinegar, some honey and/or sugar, salt and pepper.

Let this set for over a day so it makes the sauce! This is yummy Cole Slaw.

When it comes to the BBQ sauce, you will have some leftover. Put it in a glass jar in your fridge and it keeps for about 6 months. Use it for chicken or any other meat you like, it works great.

Enjoy this meal. It really is a soul-warmer and a crowd-pleaser!!

We love it during any season. Hope you will, too!
