3 slices bacon, diced
3 large onions, chopped
3 tablespoons brown sugar
1 lb 11 oz can sauerkraut
Half Turkey*
Melted butter or oil

Directions:
Directions:
Fry bacon until crisp. Add onions and cook until lightly browned. Mix brown sugar with sauerkraut and mix with bacon onion mixture. Turn into a shallow roasting pan. Place turkey on top, skin side up. Brush lightly with melted butter or oil. Roast at 325 degrees for 2 1/2 hours or until turkey is well done. Increase oven temperature last 15 minutes if necessary to brown turkey. Will serve 4 hungry people.
*Purchase 13 to 14 pound turkey and have butcher cut it in half. Freeze one half for another meal.
