6 large green peppers
1 lb hamburger
1/2 onion, chopped
1 tsp salt
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1 C cooked rice
15 oz can tomato sauce
3/4 C shredded mozzarella cheese

Directions:
Directions:
Cut thin slice from stem end of each pepper. Remove seeds and membranes, rinse. Cook peppers in enough boiling water to cover 5 min, drain.
Cook and stir hamburger, and onion in large skillet until hamburger is light brown, drain excess oil. Stir in salt, garlic, rice, and 1 C of tomato sauce, heat through.
Stuff each pepper with hamburger mix, stand upright in ungreased baking dish, 8x8x2 or pie pan. Pour remaining sauce over peppers. Cover, cook in 350 oven for 45 min. Uncover, sprinkle with cheese and cook 10-15 min longer.
