Ingredients:
Ingredients:
Chicken wings
12 oz Texas Pete hot sauce
4 oz vinegar
1 tbsp oilve oil
I dry packet Good Seasons Italian Salad Dressing

Directions:
Directions:
Whisk the ingredients together until blended. The ratio should be 3:1 hot sauce to vinegar, and the volume can be adjusted to the amount of wings you are cooking.

Once blended, reserve 1/4 or so of the mixture for basting. I will also keep a small amount in reserve to drizzle on prior to serving.

Add wings and liquid to a zip lock bag and marinate for 2-6 hours. (optional)

If you are smoking these, add wood chips of your choice to the fire at a temperature of 275 max. Smoke for 45-60 minutes turning once. If you prefer a char, kick up the temperature and reverse sear for a few minutes on each side.

If you are grilling, cook at 350 for 20-30 minutes turning once or until done.

With either method, baste with the reserved marinade when turning the wings.

Place the cooked wings on a platter and get ready to impress your guests.

Personal Notes:
My father-in-law had a brother named Larry, and they called him Uncle Ugly. He always had a girlfriend, so I am not sure why they called him that. Well... The first time I tried these was at a beach house at the Outer Banks in North Carolina. He was reluctant to share his secret recipe, but he passed it down after several beers. He said there was a secret ingredient that he left out, but I think I was able to recreate it to perfection.
