Dad's Peanut Brittle Recipe

1½ C White Sugar
¼ C Water
2 T Butter
¼ tsp Salt
½ C White Syrup
1½ C Raw Peanuts (or Pecans)
2 tsp Baking Soda
1 tsp Vanilla Extract

Directions:
Directions:
Boil sugar, syrup & water until the liquid spins a thread. Add peanuts. Stirring constantly, cook until the peanuts are done. Test in cold water.

Turn fire out and add baking soda, butter, salt and vanilla and stir. Pour onto a greased, salted cookie sheet.

I usually double the recipe to make more at one time.
