Personal Notes:
Remember the luau? Remember the fire dancing and palm-tree climbing? Remember the Jason Momoa-looking dudes wearing grass skirts? I sure do.

Remember that amazing pork?

Traditionally, that amazing pork is cooked in a pit in the ground. But, we have a septic system, so that's probably not a great idea. But, this recipe comes really close to the same result. The secret is the salt and the stupidly long cooking time. Yes, you need to get Hawaiian salt, which you'll probably have to order online. If you MUST use a substitute, use Himalayan pink salt.

And, yes, I know. This thing has to cook for the better part of two days in your crock pot. But, trust me. It's so good.

Definitely get some Kings Hawaiian rolls to serve with this.
