Dragon Almond Cookies Recipe

3 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup blanched almonds
1 cup granulated sugar
1 1/2 cup butter or lard
1 teaspoon almond extract
1 large egg
1/8 cup water

brush on top of cookies

1 large egg- beaten

Preheat oven to 350
Mix flour, baking soda and slaft in medium bowl
In a blender grind 1/2 cup blanched almonds to fine powder, add to flour mixture
Cream sugar, butter, almond extract, egg and water
Add flour mixture and mix throughly
Form into 1 inch balls and place on ungreased cookie sheet 2 inch apart
Press one of remaining almonds in center of each ball and flatten with fingers
Brush each cookie lightly with beaten egg
Bake for 20 minutes or until cookies are light brown around the edges
