Potatoes
Bacon or ham
Chicken or vegetable broth
1 tsp. onion powder
1 tsp. garlic powder
salt and pepper
1/2 c. flour
1/2 c. butter
1 c. cream

Note: try adding a small tub of sour cream before serving. Top soup with grated cheddar & chives

Peel & dice potatoes, filling soup pot 3/4 full. Add a package of crumbled cooked bacon, or approximately 2 c. diced cooked ham.
Add just enough chicken or vegetable broth to cover the potatoes in the pot.
Add seasonings. Experiment!
Cover and simmer until potatoes are soft. Uncover and add cream.
In a small pot, melt butter and stir in flour. Add this to your soup to thicken it.
