2 cups scalded milk
2 cups cold water
3 teaspoon salt
4 tablespoons melted butter or shortening cooled
3 tablespoons sugar
11-12 cups flour
1 or 2 packets of yeast dissolved in 1/4 cup just lukewarm water. Add 1/2 teaspoon sugar to water before dissolving

Heat milk. Add cold water. Then add salt, butter, sugar, and stir. Add part of the flour and stir. Add more each time until dough follows itself around bowl. Put rest of flour on counter and knead 10 minutes adding flour as needed to keep it from sticking to the counter.
