Aunt Gail's Sugar Cookies Recipe

2 c. flour
1 c. powdered sugar
tsp. salt
1 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. baking soda
lb. butter, softened
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla extract
Milk (if needed)

⅓ c. butter
3 c. powdered sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
3 Tbs. milk (add more if needed)

1. Mix all ingredients together in large bowl. Roll out dough and cut into desired shape. Place on lightly greased cookie sheet and cook at 350 for 12 minutes.
2. In a medium bowl combine all ingredients for icing, then ice cookies.
