1 pkg Yeast
1/4 C Water
2 C Scalded Milk
5 - 5 1/4 C Flour
2 Tbsp Flour
2 tsp Salt
1 Tbsp Shortening

Directions:
Directions:
Soften yeast in warm water. Combine milk, sugar, salt, and shortening. Cool to warm. Stir in 2 C flour and beat well. Add yeast and mix. Add remaining flour to make a moderately stiff dough. Turn out and knead till smooth and satiny, about 8 - 10 minutes. Place in greased bowl; cover and let rise in warm place about 1 1/2 hours. Punch down. Let rise again about 45 minutes. Shape into loaves; place in two 8 1/2 x 4 1/2 loaf pans and let rise until double. Bake at 400º for 35 minutes. If browning too fast, cover loosely with foil
