2 lbs or 4 1/3 cup split green peas
4 qt water
2 medium onions chopped
2 cups finely chopped celery
1 cup shredded or finely chopped carrots
4-5 lb ham hocks
2 lg. bay leaves
1 tsp thyme leaves powder
1/2 cups chopped parsley
salt and pepper
Peas (amount wasn't given)

Directions:

Rinse peas, add to a large kettle add rest of ingredients. Cook for 3 hours gently, remove ham bones cut up meat. garnish with diced tomatoes, sour cream, parsley chopped and croutons.
