2 tablespoons oil
1/2 cup minced onion
1 1/2 tablespoon minced garlic
1/2 pound ground turkey
4 teaspoons cumin
1 pound turkey breast cubed (2 cups)
3 cups chicken broth (or more if you want more liquid)
1/2 cup pearled barley
1 tablespoon jalapeno seeded & chopped (leave in the seeds for more heat)
1 teaspoon marjoram
1 teaspoon summer savory
1 can Great Northern Beans
1 can Garbanzo Beans
Tabasco drops
**I like to add 1/2 cup shredded carrots, shredded zucchini, or broccoli to add color and some veggies!

Extra Toppings: green onion, cheese, sour cream, cilantro
Directions:
Directions:
Saute onion and minced garlic. Add and brown ground turkey and cumin. If you are adding the carrots and zucchini, you can do it now. When the meat is browned add the cubed turkey and warm. Once it is all warm, add the chicken broth, pearled barley, and jalapeno. Simmer until the barley is tender. Then add the marjoram, dried summer savory, beans, and tabasco to taste.

This was brought to me by a friend after my quadruplets were born. It now has a top spot on my comfort food list! My family and everyone I have served this to love this recipe and ask for it when it starts to get cold. We love eating it with Grandma's Butter Corn Bread.
