Ingredients:
Ingredients:
3 cups all purpose flour
1 t salt
¾ cup vegetable shortening, cut into pieces
1 ½ sticks of butter
1 egg
1 T white vinegar
5 T cold water

Directions:
Directions:
Combine the flour, salt, shortening and butter into a bowl and mix it with a pastry cutter. The pastry cutter is KEY. Once it resembles course crumbs, beat the egg with a fork and add it to the mixture along with the vinegar and the cold water. Stir until it all comes together, adding more cold water if necessary. Then form the mixture into two balls. Wrap them into individual bags, seal and freeze. Pull them out 30" before you need them.

Personal Notes:
Straight out of a cookbook that Grammy gave me - The Pioneer Woman's A Year of Holidays. I use this crust for my apple pie, which comes from the same cookbook.
