3 cups white flour*
1 cup wheat flour
1.5 teaspoons yeast
2 teaspoons salt
1 ¾ -2 cups water
2 teaspoons sugar (brown, white or honey – all work well)

1 Tbsp olive oil

*Pizza dough is always best with good high quality flour – we use King Arthur’s – its worth it!


Knead in stand mixer until pulling away from the bowl and beginning to take oblong shape around dough hook (5-7 minutes at medium speed)

Add
1 Tablespoon olive oil. Mix until incorporated.

Cover and let rise 2-3 hours until dough has doubled. (Can refrigerate up to 24 hours if wanting to make ahead)

Like his sister, Roan loves the pizza. He is such a fan of his Dad's pizza that when he knows the oven is on at our house (Nana & Pop's) that he peeks in through the door window and says pizza, pizza, pizza.
