Sugar and Spice nuts Recipe

      Ingredients:  4 cups pecan halves 1/2 cup butter 3 egg whites 1/2 teaspoon salt 3/4 cup sugar 1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon

		Directions:		 | 
      Directions:Preheat oven to 250º. 
  Spread nuts on shallow jelly roll pan and bake for 25 minutes. Remove pan from oven and pour nuts into a bowl. Put butter on hot baking pan tilting it to be sure its evenly coated. Pour nuts back onto pan,using a wooden spoon to spread them evenly. set aside while preparing the coating. Turn oven up to 300º.
  Beat eggs whites until foamy. Add salt,sugar,and cinnamon slowly continuing to beat until stiff peaks are formed when you lift the mixer. Pour sugar mixture over the nuts using a wooden spoon to spread it evenly. Put back in oven and bake or 35 to 40 minutes,watching carefully. Stir nuts as necessary to keep them separated and bake until they are dry looking and slightly brown. Be careful and do not let them burn. Allow to cool completely before packing into containers.   |
