"A man who was fond of wine was offered some grapes at dessert after dinner. "Much obliged," said he, pushing the plate aside; "I am not accustomed to take my wine in pills."--Jean Antheleme Brillat-Savarin, The Physiology of Taste

Ingredients:
1 c.flour
2 tsp.cream of tarter
1/3 c. salt
1 c. water
1 tbsp. oil
food or cake coloring

Directions:
Mix first three ingredients in pan. Add next three and cook over medium to low heat. Stir constantly until it is not wet. It will be lumpy to stir but will only take from 30 seconds to 2 minutes. Take from pan and cool 30 seconds. Then kneed on wax paper for 30 seconds. Refrigerate in plastic bag until needed. It will keep in the refrigerator for many weeks. I find the cake coloring makes more vibrant colors, but either works. Adding fragrant oils (optional) can be fun, but the high sodium does not make it good to eat.

Personal Notes:
Kids love play dough. Kitchen utensils make good designs. Creations can be slow baked or left out to dry.
