6 slices white bread w/crust removed
½ stick margarine/butter
1½ c. shredded cheddar cheese
6 eggs - well beaten ( I use mixer)
2 c. half & half
1 lb. sausage - I use mild
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. dry mustard

Directions:
Directions:
Cook sausage, drain. Melt butter in 13 x 9 glass pan. Tear bread up & sprinkle over the butter. Sprinkle drained sausage next. Sprinkle cheese over sausage. Beat eggs, half & half, salt and dry mustard. Pour over the casserole. Cover. Chill for 8 hours or overnight. Bake 350º F for 40-50 minutes - uncovered.

This recipe was given to my as a bridal shower gift. I have been making this casserole every Christmas morning since! It's a great brunch item. You can substitute bacon for the sausage, change up the cheese types, or use "Hot" sausage. Enjoy!
