1 cup self-rising flour, slightly rounded
1 can Hershey's chocolate syrup

For the cake:

Preheat oven to 375º

Grease and flour 3, 8" round cake pans.

Cream sugar and butter. Add eggs one at a time, beating after each. Then add flour all at once, mixing well Add chocolate syrup and vanilla, mix well. Pour mix into cake pans and bake for 20 minutes. Check with toothpick - when it pulls out clean, cakes are done. Let cool just a bit. Turn out onto racks and let cool completely.

For the frosting:

In a saucepan, mix butter, sugar and milk together and boil for 3 minutes on medium heat, stirring constantly. Remove from heat, add chocolate chips and vanilla. Blend.

You need to let the frosting cool before you work with it as the frosting will thicken. I like to set the pan in a big bowl of ice. It speeds up the thickening. Be sure to stir from time to time while cooling - once a good consistency, frost each layer and stack.

SOOOOO Good!
