1 loaf of cocktail/ party size loaf of rye or pumpernickel bread.
usually found in the deli department of grocery store
1 lb of bulk sausage.... ex. Bob Evans roll of breakfast sausage----I usually use the spicy sausage
1/2 lb of velveeta cheese
(1 tsp. of oregano, 1/4 tsp. of pepper, 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce optional)

Preheat oven to 425 degrees.

1. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook sausage until browned and crumbled. Drain off excess fat.
2. Add velveeta and the rest of the ingredients and stir over low heat until melted and fully blended.
3. Arrange bread slices onto cookie sheet. Place a dollop of meat mixture on each piece of bread and bake for about 15 minutes. (Oven times may vary)

1. Lay bread slices onto freezer safe baking sheet.
2. Place a dollop of meat mixture onto each slice of bread and place in freezer for about an hour.
3. Remove and place frozen Hanky Pankies into a freezer safe storage bag.
4. Store in freezer until ready to serve.
5. When serving, place frozen Hanky Pankies on baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes

Personal Notes:
I have made them with only the sausage and velveeta cheese on the bread and they still taste yummy.
