14 oz. can sweetened condensed milk
1-14 oz. package sweetened flaked coconut
2 cups powdered sugar
1 T. vanilla
1 cup butter(not margarine) 2 sticks
1-12 oz. package semi-sweet chocolate chips
2 T. vegetable shortening
1½ cups pecans or walnuts, chopped

In small microwave bowl, melt the butter, set aside to cool. In large mixing bowl combine, milk, coconut, sugar, vanilla, walnuts and cooled butter until creamy. In a small crock-pot or slow cooker on low heat melt shortening and chocolate chips until smooth and creamy. Using a small scoop make small balls from the dough and drop into chocolate mixture, using a fork roll until coated and place on waxed paper lined baking sheets. Refrigerate until ready to serve. Makes 6 to 7 dozen.
