BREAD:
½ cup butter
2 eggs, beaten
2 cups flour
½ tsp salt
¼ cup milk
1½ cups sugar
1 tsp vanilla
½ tsp baking pdr
1 cup pecans, chopped
3 ripe bananas, mashed well

GLAZE:
¼ cup firmly backed light brown sugar
¼ cup butter
2 Tbsp milk

BREAD:
Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs and vanilla. Beat until fluffy. Add dry ingredients, then add in milk, bananas and nuts. Mix together well.

Pour into a greased loaf pan.
Bake 350º for 50 minutes or until brown on top. Give the “clean knife” test.

GLAZE:
Combine all ingredients in a heavy sauce pan. Bring to a full boil and cook for 2 minutes, stirring constantly. Let the glaze cool to lukewarm.
While the bread is still warm, glaze every 30 minutes. OR... prick the top of the bread with fork or toothpick—pour glaze over so it seeps in. Top with chopped pecans.

If you have bananas that are about to get too ripe. Stick in the freezer. When you are ready to make this bread, simply take out of the freezer, peel and use. They will thaw very soft and mushy—perfect for this recipe.
