1 cup raisins
1½ cups boiling water
2 cups flour
1 tsp. baking soda
½ tsp. salt
1 cup lard or butter
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 cups rolled oats
½ cups nuts

Directions:
Directions:
In a saucepan combine raisins and water. Simmer for 10 minutes. Drain raisins and reserve ½ cup liquid. Cool.

Measure and sift together, flour, baking powder and salt. With a spoon work the butter and sugar until soft.

Beat the egg and vanilla until light and fluffy. Then add dry ingredients, the raisin liquid and the cooked raisins with rolled oats and nuts.

Mix well and drop from teaspoon onto lightly greased cookie sheet and bake till golden brown.
