¾ cup shortening
1 cup packed brown sugar
1 large egg
¼ cup molasses
2¼ cups all purpose flour
2 tsp baking soda
2 tsp ground cinnamon
½ tsp salt
Additional sugar

Directions:
Directions:
In a mixing bowl, cream shortening and brown sugar together. Add egg and molasses. In another bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, cinnamon and salt. Gradually add dry mixture to creamed mixture. Roll into 1 inch balls, then roll in additional sugar.

Place 2 inch apart on ungreased baking sheets or parchment lined baking sheets. Bake at 350º for 10-12 minutes or until cookies are set and tops are cracked. Remove to wire racks to cool.¼
