2 T. Butter
1 T. Minced Onion
¼ Cup Flour
4 Cups Chicken Broth
2 Cups Wild Rice
½ Teas. Salt
1 Cup Half and Half
1 T. Dry Sherry
Slivered Almonds
Slivered Ham (Optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Rinse rice under running water using a strainer or in a bowl of water, drain. Cook rice in 4 cups water to which 1 teas. salt has been added. Bring to a boil, simmer covered until kernels are open and tender. 45-55 mins. Drain excess liquid.

Melt butter in saucepan, saute onion until tender. Blend in flour gradually, add broth. Cook stirring constantly until mixture thickens slightly. Stir in rice and salt. Simmer about 5 minutes. Blend in half and half and sherry. (Add ham - optional) Heat to serving temperature.

Serve topped with almonds.
