2 cups Pickling lime
8˝ Quarts Water
2 gallons Ex-Large Cukes

Peel cukes - take out seeds - slice in rings - Soak in above mixture for 24 hours.

Wash cukes in cold water 3 times.
Then soak in cold water 3 hours.

Drain.

In a large pot cover cukes with 1 cup of vinegar, 1 small bottle of red food coloring, 1 tsp alum and enough water to cover.
Heat and simmer for 3 hours.

Drain off water mixture.

Mix: 2 cups vinegar (more if needed)
2 cup water
8 sticks of cinnamon
10 cups sugar
2 - 6ľoz bags of red hots
Heat till sugar and red hots are dissolved and boiling.
Pour mixture over cukes. Let stand 24 hours.
Reheat mixture adding 1 cup sugar daily for 3 days.
On day 4 heat juice to boiling.
Place pickles in hot sterile jars, cover with boiling mixture, place hot lid and ring on jars.
