1½ C. Sugar
½ tsp. Salt
2½ T Corn Starch
1 T. Flour
3 Sq. Chocolate
3 C. Milk
3 Egg Yolks, Beaten
1 T Butter
1½ tsp. Vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
If chocolate is used, it should be cut up into milk. If cocoa is used, put in with dry ingredients.
Mix dry ingredients, gradually stir in milk. Cook over moderate heat stirring constantly until mixture thickens and boils. Boil one minute. Remove from heat.
Stir a little of the mixture into egg yolks, slightly beaten. Then blend into hot mixture in saucepan. Boil one minute more, stirring constantly. Remove from heat. Blend in butter and vanilla. Pour into cooled baked pie shell.
