1 cup raisins 1 cup water
¾ cup shortening. 1½ cup white sugar
2 eggs 1 tsp. Vanilla
2½ cups flour 1 tsp. Soda
1 tsp. Salt 1 tsp. Cinnamon
½ tsp. Baking powder ½ tsp. Cloves
2 cups oatmeal ½ cup nuts

Directions:

Simmer raisins in water. Drain raisins. Set aside liquid to cool. Add enough liquid to raisins to make ½ cup. Cream together shortening, sugar, eggs and vanilla. Add raisin mixture and stir. Mix all dry ingredients and add to wet ingredients. Bake @400º for 8 to 10 minutes on ungreased baking sheet.
