1/3 C shortening
2/3 C sugar
2 eggs
1 3/4 C flour, sifted
2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp soda
1/2 C coarsely chopped walnuts or pecans
1 C mashed bananas
1 C drained fresh cooked cranberry sauce (I used Craisins reconstituted with cranberry juice heated to boiling)

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening with sugar; add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Sift dry ingredients together; add nuts; add flour mixture alternately with mashed bananas to creamed mixture, beating well after each addition. Fold in cranberries. Pour into a greased 8 X 4 X 2 loaf pan. Bake in a moderate oven at 350 for approx. 60-65 minutes, or until done. Cool before slicing.
