Smoked Sausage Soup Recipe

1 pound smoked sausage, sliced thin
1 onion chopped
1 T vegetable oil
3 cups water
2 chicken bouillon cubes
1 t salt
1/4 t pepper
1 bay leaf
1/2 t thyme
3 carrots, chopped
3 celery stalks, chopped
1/4 head cabbage, cut in 1 inch cubes
2 T uncooked rice
8 ounces tomato sauce and 12 ounces whole tomatoes
15 ounce can red kidney beans

In a large saucepan, brown onion in oil until tender. Add all remaining ingredients. Cover and simmer for 30 minutes. Serve hot.
