⅓ cup butter
1 egg
1 cup sugar
½ tsp each: salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves & allspice
1 tsp. baking soda
1 can tomato soup - 8 oz. size
2 cups flour
Add raisins, peel, figs or dates if desired

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and sugar and mix well, add egg and beat well. Dissolve baking soda in tomato soup and add to above mixture. Sift flour and spices. Add fruit, be sure they are all floured well. Mix all ingredients together and place in a single loaf pan. Steam 30 minutes. Bake in moderate oven 40 minutes.
