Glazed Carrots with Herbs Recipe

1/2 lb. carrots, trimmed and
sliced 1/3 thick on the
2 Tbs. unsalted butter
1/4 c. canned chicken broth
1/2 tsp. sugar
1 tsp. minced fresh parsley
1 tsp. snipped fresh dill

1. In a saucepan of boiling salted water,
cook the carrots for 5 minutes or until
just tender. Drain in a colander and
refresh under cold, running water.

2. In a skillet, toss the carrots with
the butter over moderate heat until
they are coated well, add the broth,
the sugar and salt and pepper to
taste. Cook the mixture over moderately
high heat, tossing the carrots until the
liquid is reduced to a glaze.

3. Stir in the parsley and dill.
